Thursday Night Football: Cowboys at Titans | LineStar NFL DFS Primetime Preview 📺

We might have a lopsided TNF match-up on our hands with the Cowboys (-14) visiting the injury-riddled Titans who are still in the AFC South hunt. Regardless, if there is an NFL game on, I know we're all watching it so let's lock in on some DFS plays and props to consider tonight!

Players & Stacks to Consider

Top Captains and Core Flex Plays:

WR CeeDee Lamb: The Titans are ravaged by injuries on both sides of the ball so, as you can tell by the DAL -14 spread, this one isn’t expected to be particularly close. Only four players on the Titans' defense were considered starters at the beginning of the season and their secondary continues to be extremely depleted. They’ve been shredded by opposing WRs this season, allowing the 2nd most receptions, 2nd most touchdowns, and 3rd most receptions to the position. Lamb is coming off of a monster 11-10-120-2 receiving line in week 16 and owns an elite 28.8% TGT% on an offense that should have no problems moving the ball through the air tonight.

QB Dak Prescott: Dak is squarely in play for all of the same reasons we’re honing in on Lamb as a captain play tonight. The porous Titans pass defense is allowing the 3rd most FPPG to QBs this season, 2nd most over the last four weeks. Dak has not been stellar this season but he should be a high-floor play and, if the Titans can avoid getting completely blown out early, that would force Dak and the Cowboys to stay fairly aggressive through the air.

RB Hassan Haskins: With Derrick Henry (hip/doubtful) not expected to play tonight, rookie Hassan Haskins should get the first crack at the Titans’ RB work. King Henry has led all NFL RBs in rush attempts so there have not been many opportunities for any other RBs on the roster this season. Haskins has just 11 carries and seven receptions to his name this season. But he is a talented back who averaged 94.8 YPG and punched in 20 touchdowns during his senior season at Michigan last year. The big draw here is his $3,000 (CPT: $4,500) price tag on DraftKings. Anyone who is that cheap and has a shot at 15+ touches opens up a ton of roster flexibility as a captain play.

Flex Plays and Leverage Captain Options:

RB Ezekiel Elliott: The game script should certainly work out in Zeke’s favor tonight. The Cowboys should have no issues getting a sizable lead going tonight and, from there, they could lean on the run game. The Titans are stingy against the run (2nd in rush DVOA) but Zeke remains a strong play regardless. He extended his touchdown streak to eight games last week and the Cowboys are expected to make Tony Pollard (thigh/questionable) inactive tonight, which opens up more opportunities for Elliott, especially as a receiver.

TE Dalton Schultz: Much like the wide receivers that have faced Tennessee, tight ends have been torching the Titans' defense as well. Over the last four games, tight ends are racking up 7.3 rec/gm, 96.3 YPG, and 20.6 FPPG. Schultz owns a strong 23.0% redzone TGT% and is a great bet to find the endzone tonight.

QB Joshua Dobbs: QB Ryan Tannehill is done for the season and rookie QB Malik Willis has not shown enough on the field this season to give the coaching staff much confidence. The Titans are still in a position to win the AFC South and crack the playoffs, so they went out and signed Joshua Dobbs off of the Lions’ practice squad eight days ago and he is now set to start tonight. Dobbs was drafted in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers but has never made a start in the NFL. He is by no means a safe play, but any time a starting QB is priced at $6,000 on these single-game slates, they’re going to be worth a look for DFS lineups.

Flex Fillers, Fliers, and Sleepers:

Cowboys D/ST: There are a lot of factors working in the Cowboys' defense’s favor. Derrick Henry isn’t playing, Dallas is a 14-point favorite, Tennessee has a QB making his first NFL start who signed with the team just eight days ago, and the Titans' O-Line is completely decimated.

WR Treylon Burks: Even as a rookie, Burks is easily the most talented receiver that the Titans have and he likely benefits from Joshua Dobbs getting the start tonight as opposed to Malik Willis. The predicted game script also favors a pass-heavy approach with Tennessee expected to play from behind for most, or all, of this game.

K Brett Maher: The Cowboys are going to put up points tonight but it’s reasonable to assume that they’ll still have some drives stall out within field goal range. Maher is one of the best kickers in the business and has connected on 8-of-8 FGs and 11-of-11 PATs in the last three weeks.

RB Julius Chestnut: I’ll be honest… I had never heard of this guy before a couple of days ago but he is expected to get some RB work behind Haskins tonight. Worth a flier in some GPP lineups.

RB Malik Davis: Tony Pollard is not expected to play and if the Cowboys can coast to a victory, they’re not going to overwork Zeke Elliott. Davis is listed directly behind Zeke on the Cowboys' depth chart and should see some notable touches tonight. In limited work this season, Davis has averaged 4.5 YPC and has caught 4-of-5 targets for 40 yards. At the stone minimum of $200 on DraftKings, he makes plenty of sense as a punt play.

Stack Concepts:

Note: [*Player Name] indicates captain selection.

*WR CeeDee Lamb, QB Dak Prescott, K Brett Maher: Lamb is the most expensive player on the slate but he draws one of the best match-ups a WR could ask for so he’s a clear-cut captain play tonight. We’ll lock in Dak to complete the stack and roll with K Brett Maher for some salary relief.

*QB Dak Prescott, WR CeeDee Lamb, TE Dalton Schultz: Standard CPT Dak double stack.

*RB Hassan Haskins, WR CeeDee Lamb, QB Dak Prescott: Haskins is cheap and should handle a solid amount of touches. Rolling him out at captain leaves plenty of salary left over to splurge on top-end FLEX plays like Lamb and Dak.

*RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys D/ST, QB Dak Prescott, K Brett Maher: Here’s a Cowboys-heavy stack that should give you exposure to every point scored by Dallas tonight.

*QB Joshua Dobbs, WR Treylon Burks, WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: Definitely a contrarian stack but Dobbs should be motivated to put on a show in his first career NFL start. The Cowboys haven’t necessarily been lights out on defense lately, and they’re allowing 279.8 passing YPG over their last four games. Backup QB Gardner Minshew II just threw for 355 yards and a pair of TDs against them last week so, ya know, maybe Dobbs can match that same energy. Crazier things have happened in the NFL.
