THANKSGIVING DAY GAMES

QB:

  • Kirk Cousins, WAS (vs NYG)Captain Kirk has been flying high this season, and putting up 18% more fantasy points when at home. Washington will be without Pryor, Reed, and Thompson for this game, so some of his weapons have been taken away. However the Giants pass defense is near the bottom in the league allowing 2 TDs and 272 yards passing per game.

  • Philip Rivers, SD (@DAL)Vegas has slated this as the highest scoring game of the Thanksgiving day slate with a 48 point over under, with the Chargers being favored by a single point. Dallas has been taking a beating lately, and will be without their stud linebacker Sean Lee once again. The Chargers have faced 3 of the top pass defenses over the last 4 weeks, and will welcome this much softer Dallas secondary.

RB:

  • Alfred Morris, DAL (vs LAC)Morris saw 17 carries and 91 rushing yards versus the stout run defense of the Eagles. The Chargers are ranked 30th overall in fantasy points allowed to running backs, so hopefully Morris doesn't eat much before the game because he's set to feast against the Chargers who have allowed nearly 120 yards rushing per game.

  • Jerick McKinnon, MIN (@DET)McKinnon and Murray are in a pretty much dead even time share for the Vikings. The Lions are giving up 6 receptions per game to running backs, and 47 reception yards, which will play nicely with how McKinnon is used as the pass catching back. McKinnon has seen 5.5 targets per game over the last 4 games and should be set to see around 15 carries and 5 catches on Thanksgiving which could provide a tasty treat.

TE

  • Evan Engram, NYG (@WSH)The choice between Evan Engram and Vernon Davis for a cash play is really tough. Both should be heavily-owned. Davis has the better matchup, while Engram has a solid matchup and a higher share of his offense. All things equal, Engram is definitely the better play, but when taking into account salary, Davis is the better value on FanDuel, while Engram is better on DraftKings and Yahoo.

  • Hunter Henry, LAC (@DAL)For the small Thanksgiving slate, it’ll be hard to find many low-owned guys, but I’m thinking Henry will be one that has great upside. The Chargers play much better when they get him the ball, and soon they will realize this and consistently give him his proper share. Dallas hasn’t been great against TEs, and that’s with their inflated numbers from playing Jordan Reed who got hurt and Zach Ertz who likely wasn’t 100% in two of their last 4. In the other two games, Austin Hooper had 6 Rec for 49 Yards and a TD, and Travis Kelce had 7 Rec for 73 Yards and a TD.

  • Los Angeles Chargers, @DALEven considering the small slate, they should have decent ownership. The Dallas offense has one touchdown in their two games without Zeke, while the Chargers defense is heating up as of late. This is more of a cash game play.

  • Washington Redskins, vs. NYGThe Giants are likely without Sterling Shepard. Based on the FanSense love/hates, it seems like they should be low-owned despite going against an offense whose best weapon is a rookie TE. The Redskins defense hasn’t done a lot fantasy-wise, but they’ll be facing Eli who always has potential for a horrendous game. Also, Eli is on pace to have his fewest interceptions in a full season ever, and I’m down to bet on some regression. Definitely more of a tournament play.

INJURIES TO WATCH:

  • Dwayne Washington, DET - Hip, ruled out, Zach Zenner should get goal line carries

  • Travis Benjamin, LAC - Abdomen, limited in practice, likely to play, would boost Mike Williams otherwise as they split WR3 duties

  • Mike Williams, LAC - Knee, limited in practice, likely to play, would boost Benjamin otherwise

  • Sterling Shepard, NYG - Migraine, didn’t practice Tuesday, unlikely to play, boosts Evan Engram, Roger Lewis, and Tavarres King

  • Ryan Grant, WSH - Calf, limited all week, likely to play but not 100% healthy

  • Samaje Perine, WSH - Finger, limited all week, likely to play, Byron Marshall will be 3rd down back and would likely be next in line if Perine is out

  • Jordan Reed, WSH - Hamstring, already ruled out, big for Vernon Davis
